辅助器具一般是由残疾人使用的，特殊生产的或通常可获得的用于预防、代偿、监测、缓解或降低残疾的任何产品、器具、设备或技术系统。它是残疾人补偿和改善功能，提高生存质量，增强社会生活参与能力最直接有效的手段。

辅具适配科室设有评估区、适配区和人机结合体验区三个功能分区，并特设150㎡的展示区域，对假肢、轮椅、拐杖、助行架、盲人电脑、聋人可视语音系统等各类辅助器具用品进行展示。

辅助器具适配师会为提交申请的入院病人评估躯体功能状况并提供适配意见。

The ISO 9999 classification of technical aids defines these as "any product, instrument, equipment or technical system used by a disabled person, especially produced or generally available, preventing, compensating, monitoring, relieving or neutralizing" disability. It is recognized that any product or technology can be assistive. (See ISO 9999: Technical aids for disabled persons - Classification (second version); ISO/TC 173/SC 2; ISO/DIS 9999 (rev.).) For the purposes of this classification of environmental factors, however, assistive products and technology are defined more narrowly as any product, instrument, equipment or technology adapted or specially designed for improving the functioning of a disabled person.

Assistive Devices Department is equipped with three functional areas, including Assessment Area,  Matching Area, Man-Machine Synergy checking Area .Furthermore, Assistive Device Department show artificial limbs, wheelchairs, crutches, computers for the blind, visual voice systems for the deaf, and other types of assistive devices In a room of 150 ㎡.

Orthotics specialist will assess the physical functional status of patients who submit assistive devices adaptation applications and provide adaptation recommendations.
